The Driehaus Awards for Fashion Excellence
Award Recipients

Driehaus Design Initiative presented Elements, The 16th Annual Driehaus Awards for Fashion Excellence on Friday, April 28, 2017 at 700 S. Desplaines Street in the historic South Loop neighborhood.

The top awards of the evening were presented to:

First Place: Anna Loosli, The School of the Art Institute of Chicago
Second Place: Carrie McMahon, The School of the Art Institute of Chicago
Third Place: Verneccia Etienne, Illinois Institute of Art - Chicago
Neiman Marcus Distinguished Designer Award: Quinlan Milne Rojek, Dominican University

Honorable Mention awards went to:

Philip Addessi, The Illinois Institute of Art - Chicago
Franca Deflorio, Columbia College Chicago
David Garcia, Columbia College Chicago
Quinlan Milne Rojek, Dominican University
Jacquie Wallaert, Dominican University

Wendy Krimins, Vice President & General Manager of Neiman Marcus Michigan Avenue, selected Quinlan Milne Rojek of Dominican University as the recipient of the Neiman Marcus Distinguished Designer Award for best representing the store’s brand and customer. With the award, Rojek won a mentorship with Neiman Marcus and a window display of his winning designs at the Michigan Avenue store. First place winner Anna Loosli will display her winning collection in the store.

Loosli’s prize package also included $7,500, the production of a lookbook including hair and make-up, stylist, models, photography and space rental, a mentorship from Mignonette Bridal, $500 certificate to Fishman’s Fabrics, and additional media opportunities.

The event proceeds benefitted the participating fashion programs, the Chicago Fashion Incubator and the Chicago History Museum.
