About the Awards
History
Businessman and philanthropist Richard H. Driehaus founded The Driehaus Fashion Awards to provide emerging fashion designers in Chicago an opportunity to showcase their talents and to further their design careers. Students are selected from local fashion and design programs including:

  • Columbia College Chicago
  • Dominican University
  • The School of the Art Institute of Chicago
Selected students showcase their designs in a runway show competition. A panel of industry experts judge their collections and the top designers are awarded cash honorariums from $1,000 to $7,500. Past participants have achieved success after the show, establishing their own design businesses and gaining national recognition for their collections.
